PODCAST: Air Force Recap, Colorado Preview
The boys break down Baylor's 31-3 victory over Air Force and look ahead to this week's Big 12 opener on the road against Deion Sanders and Colorado.
In all of the excitement of recording a podcast chock-full of things to talk about, we neglected to discuss the fact that it was announced on Saturday afternoon that Dequan Finn had been declared unavailable due to “injuries” and that Sawyer Robertson would make the start for the Bears against the Air Force Falcons on Saturday evening. Of course, we spend plenty of time discussing the game and Sawyer’s performance, but I can’t say that the announcement came as much of a shock to us, given the way that the first two weeks went and the talk surrounding the program last week.
The word this week is that Finn is cleared and is practicing, but Aranda claimed that he remains “day-to-day” on Monday and did not address the quarterback situation. It appears that the general consensus amongst the Baylor faithful is that Robertson deserves the ball against Colorado. We will see what happens come Saturday.
During the “Tale of Two Halves?” Segment of this week’s show we discuss Dave Aranda’s sideline speech to the defense. I present that to you now, courtesy of our own Brian Horn:
Additionally, we make mention of the Baylor Athletics Instagram post of Sawyer Robertson’s touchdown run on Saturday. Here’s that:
