Recruiting Resurgent
It’s safe to say that the month of July was one of the best months in recruiting for Baylor football… ever. Seven players committed to Baylor for the 2025 class and another for the 2026 class. Five of the eight are blue-chip prospects. Then, between recording this podcast and its release, Baylor received a commitment from a JUCO Offensive Lineman and a kicker to boot.
This month rivals January 2017 for the breathless flurry of recruiting, but I believe that this is the best month in recruiting history for Baylor football in terms of the sheer quality of prospects coming in. The quality across the board is thrilling, and its generated a buzz around the program that hasn’t been felt since the immediate aftermath of the 2021 Big 12 Championship and Sugar Bowl victory.
Now the team has to convert that excitement and energy into results on the field. Can the staff translate the momentum in recruiting onto the field? We’ll find out in less than a month.
August is here. Football is right around the corner, folks.
