PODCAST: Previewing The Blackout vs. TCU
Fank and Pope go long talking about the hilarious allegations around the headsets, celebrating the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Championship Teams, plus a look at TCU from every angle. Blackout. Let's go.
Might as well address the title up front. Yes, I walked into it. No, it wasn’t premeditated. I was in the flow and it was already out of my mouth before I realized what I’d said. I’m not proud of it, but here we are. Let’s all be mature about it and move on, shall we?
Blackout Game Time!
People have been clamoring for it for years now. We had a little test run in September that was successful vs. Air Force, but this is the Real Deal. It’s time for another Blackout game at McLane Stadium… this time your Baylor Bears face off against our hated rival the TCU Horned Frogs.
I say it on the show, and I’ve been saying it on Twitter and Discord all week: I am SO excited about this game. I have not felt this level of excitement for a Baylor football game since probably 2022. Yes, it’s for a matchup between teams that are 4-4 and 5-3, but for whatever reason, this feels significant for this program. A win in this game cements the momentum the team built coming out of the bye week and means they only have to win one of their remaining three games to get to bowl eligibility. Plus, as we talk about on the show, TCU has pretty much owned the matchup since it rebooted in 2010. It’s time for the Bears to have their day.
If you haven’t yet and you’re on the fence, I highly recommend picking up tickets. Let’s sell out McLane Stadium and show this team support. They’re in the midst of a turnaround and we fans owe it to them to show up in force on Saturday. And in black.
Get your tickets here. Alternatively, hit up BearNTex on Twitter, as he does an admirable job connecting fans who need tickets with those that can’t use theirs. Check it out. Let’s do this.
