Baylor vs. Tcu Live Updates 11/2/24
Baylor (4-4) takes on TCU (5-3) on a night where the 2013 and 2014 teams will be honored
Night game. Blackout. Baylor vs. TCU. Every aspect of tonight’s game has a different feel than any other matchup this year and resembles the type of aura those two championships brought to Waco. As fans are beginning to trickle into McLane stadium, a question deserves to be asked: Is Baylor… cool again? The uniforms and having the #3 offense in the Big 12 sure seem to suggest so. Stay tuned for tonight’s 7 p.m. kickoff and live updates throughout the game!
START OF GAME:
TCU OPENING DRIVE (BU 0 - TCU 0)
Tcu Receives the kick. An opening play swing pass to Richardson goes for 3, a direct snap to Williams for 3, and an incomplete pass to Bech causes a 3 and out. TCU Punts, returned to the 20, HOLDING on the Bears. Baylor ball at the 10.
Baylor Opening Drive (0 - 0)
A 6-yard catch on a corner route by Hal Presley, a 3-yard Bryson Washington run, and a 5-yard 2nd effort run after being stopped short set the Bears up for 1st & 10 at their own 24. 3 straight 1st achieving down plays (Bryson caught for 11, ran for 17, and Hawkins catch for 15). 3rd and 8 on the 32-yard line. Sawyer sacked for a 9-yard loss, and Palmer Williams punts it to the 5-yard line.
TCU Touchdown (Bears 0 - Frogs 7)
A 3rd & 1 was converted on a 6-yard Battle rush, the next play was a RB swing to Williams for 28 yards. TCU ball on the Baylor 48. Hoover completes a 40-yard pass to Rogers for a 1st & goal. The Frogs completed an 8-yard pass in the back of the endzone to Jordyn Bailey. Touchdown Frogs.
Baylor TOUCHDOWN (Bears 7 - Frogs 7)
A couple of Bryson Washington runs, a catch by Cameron, and a catch by Trigg have the Bears at 2 & 7 at the TCU 18. 3rd & 1 at the TCU 12. TCU has a late substitution and forces Baylor to call a timeout. Fake Jet Sweep handoff goes to Washington for a 1st down. 8-yard TOUCHDOWN RUN BAYLOR.
TCU Punt (Bears 7 - Frogs 7)
1st & 10 on the TCU 25. HOLDING on TCU, 1st & 20. Screen to Williams for 12 yards. 3rd & 1 converted, TCU has 1st & 10 on the TCU 36 yard line. An incomplete pass on 3rd & 5, TCU punts. Baylor Ball on the 25.
Baylor Punt (Bears 7 - Frogs 7)
Incomplete RPO to Josh Cameron. Pass to Gavin Yates in the flat for 4 yards, it’s 3rd & 6. Josh Cameron has a beautiful fingertip catch on an out route for the 1ST DOWN. Holding and an incomplete leave the Bears with 3rd & 17 on their own 30. An incomplete pass to Ashtyn Hawkins forces a punt. Palmer Williams booted it 51 yards and TCU will take over on their own 19.
TCU Punt (Bears 7 - Frogs 7)
An incomplete pass and a Caden Jenkins tackle to prevent a big gain leave the Frogs with 3rd and 9. Savion Williams DROPS quite literally the easiest touchdown of all time and the Bears will take over at their own 36.
Baylor TOUCHDOWN (Bears 13 - Frogs 7)
A Washington 3-yard rush and Sawyer scramble for 8 yards give Baylor a first down. WOW!!!! BRYSON WASHINGTON FIRES OUT OF A CANNON FOR A 40-YARD SCORE, TOUCHDOWN BEARS!!! Extra Point No Good.
TCU Field Goal (Bears 13 - Frogs 10)
Savion Williams runs for 14 out of the wildcat and Bech hauls one in for a 17-yard catch-and-run. Savion Williams 12-yard catch. Incomplete pass to Bech on 3rd & 4 and the Frogs will attempt a 41-yard FG attempt. Delay of game, it’s now a 46-yard attempt. The Field Goal is GOOD.
Baylor Punt (Bears 13 - Frogs 10)
Reese runs for a loss of 1, and Sawyer barely misses Cameron on what would have been a chunk play. An incomplete pass brings a Baylor punt; Palmer Williams kicks to the TCU 32. Frogs ball.
TCU Touchdown (Bears 13 - Frogs 17)
Hoover scrambles for 3, and Matt Jones bats down the next pass attempt to set up 3rd & 7 on the TCU 35. A deep curl beats the Baylor Cover 2 for a first down. Referees miss a blatant hold on Elinus Noel and the Frogs have 3rd & 5 on the Baylor 37. Kyler Jordan misses a tackle and Jeremy Payne takes the ball to the 1-yard line for the Frogs off a catch from the flat. QB sneak is short on 1st down, timeout Baylor (1 remaining). The second one finds paydirt, touchdown Frogs.

A few short passes, a scramble, and a pass interference call set the Bears up on the TCU 37 with 11 seconds remaining. 8 seconds now remain. After a 4-yard completion, Hankins sets up for a 51-yard try. SIKE, the Officials overturn an out-of-bounds call, forcing a 10-second runoff and bringing the end of the half.
HALFTIME
Skal descended to the student section for the remaining 30 minutes of the game before triumphantly leaping onto the McLane turf. Skal managed to get on camera for Isaiah Hankins’ interview and make it backstage in time for the post-game press conference. These moments were captured, shared, and will be cherished.
